Kreg Owners' Community

I'm having trouble getting my pocket holes deep enough. I'm using the kreg j4 system and using 3/4" stock 1 1/2" wide. I have set my jig to 3/4" high for the stock and set my drill bit to 3/4" to the tip. I'm pretty new at using this and I thought I was using it correctly but can't seem to find any instructional videos on it and I'm not sure what happened to my manual. I am also using 1 1/4" coarse screws and they will not go all the way into the pocket hole. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You need you set the length of your drill bit to the shoulder of the bit, not the tip.

look in the instructions on your K4 system, it will show you in a picture, you can also go online to view a Kreg Skill Builder video.

Lay a nickel on the base & drop your bit into the guide set at 3/4". Tighten the lock collar & drill away.

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
