There are a few Aussies on the site here that I know of, possibly a bit hard to find without trawling through the members tab, Jock Sloan and I are in Brisbane.

Then there is Rachel some where around and Philip Sharp too, (he actually has a metric Kreg Jig)

I see Michael in Taree here too now so there is another one to add to the list

Its an interesting and informative site as you have just discovered. Post some info and you will always get a reply or two no matter what.

HI Everyone;  I was introduced to Kreg Joinery last summer. Am impressed with the strength. My daughter now needs me to build her two twin size loft beds for the young teen boys, that have a desk underneath, storage etc. to save room in the boys bedroom. Want to be able to assemble in panels once we get it inside the room as they have a small house with narrow halls.

Can anyone lead me towards some plans for at least a part of this project, then perhaps I can modify and combine into what she needs for my grandsons.

Hi people, I'm Stu. Just got my first keg jig (r3) and I'm looking forward to using it in my new adventures  in woodworking. Soon to have a new small/medium sized workshop (16'x12'), so limited space but think it'll  do. Any tips for laying out and best use of the space welcome.

I'm looking forward to getting started, but may be a while before I post my first project, as the workshop will need wiring and insulation first.

Hey everybody my name is Jerry .  I guess you could say I'm in the beginner mode getting better one board at a time . My newest addition to the shop is my Kreg k3 pocket jig kit . Bought it at Lowes for about $36 .My first time making pocket holes .I am making a screen door and wanted to use this type of joinery . It worked great and it's ready for painting . I love woodworking .Am frustrated  about wood quality and sandpaper that wears out before the grit. But I'm still having fun. Hope to learn more here.  Thank's Jerry

Wood Quality

Well what more can one say but some is a grade above firewood and our plywwood is in this catagory. Look around and you will find GQ timber at anything other than the big hardware places.

Use your contacts here for example to sus out decent timber.

Thre are some bargains to be had amoungst friends!!

Now sandpaper,

Well its almost in the same catagory, for some unknown reason the velco throws off before you finish, and the run of the mill sandpapers ability to sand to completion is the same.

How I got around this was to buy bulk sandpaper by the roll however it means a massive capital outlay in the  first instance something me as a hobyist took a bit to commit to.

However the advantages of having stock on hand has paid off for me

Hello Everyone,
My name is Ron Q. and a resident of Washington State. I am a recent (1st time) home owners and pretty green in wood building & creating. That being said, I eager to learn how to build, create, repair & update my home without being too dependent on contractors, if I could help it. I am familiar with power tools, i.e. hand tools, but never really built things I'd considered "Show-Case Worthy", just the basic shelves, fence repairs, etc., now, with these tools and shared projects from everybody in Kregg's Community, I see helpful and limitless options/ideas with knowledge, ideas and pointers in woodworking over time.
