Does anyone have experience using Woodpeckers BC4-M2 Box Clamps when making pocket holes? At 3:15 on the video on this page: http://www.woodpeck.com/boxclampm2.html it says these are the answer to the pocket holer's prayers. What are your thoughts? Looks like just the job to me on the video. Thanks for you help.

Gordon,

I've personally never used them as I have other squares and clamps to hold the boards for assembly.  These look nice, but seem a little pricey.

Just my 2 cents worth, Don

gordon,

i have a pair of the box clamps and i find that they hold the two edges i want to join in place very well and at right angles to each other. i use them mostly for making drawers.

Hi Jock,

Thanks so much for your reply. I got impatient and went ahead and ordered them as I have been itching to try them, and yes I agree that they seem to do the job well. I have only had a cursory look and practised joining two pieces in a mock up. Can't wait to try them for real.

I must say that the quality is superb and also the design but Woodpeckers loses points for the ridiculous way these things are packaged. It took a long time to separate the plastic "rivets" from the box, causing damage to the box and I almost whacked my fingers a few times. Surely some cable ties would do just as good a job and be much easier and safer to cut off?

Happy woodworking to you Jock: )

what ? your's came in a box. mine came in an overnight bag cable tied to a bit of cardboard.
