Tom,
I feel your pain.
I too experienced the same issues.
Sometimes I've had to use pliers to loosen the fitting.
Just tighten the fitting up "finger tight"---this will prevent wedging of the threads.
The threads are made from brass, and they lock-up pretty easy.
Add a dab of lith-grease to the threads, to reduce friction.
I wish they make knurls that are larger/deeper, so as to provide a better grip.
I mentioned this, some years back, but I still see no change.
On similar knurled fitting, I've enlarged the knurls, making deeper/larger grooves, using applicable machinist files.
Tom,
There could be a "metal chip", wedged in the threads, or a burr on the threads.
I contacted Kreg they are sending a new knob, hopefully this is all it will need somewhat concerned with the interface as well, I don't think I have a tap that small or know the pitch to get one, we'll see if the new knob solves the problem first, I will keep you posted. Thanks

I used a dremel to cut a slot in mine - and use a screwdriver. Much easier to adjust now.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
