I was wondering if anyone has done this, or has had any issues. Any advice?
I am building a bar for the home and want to use 1.5 in thick butcher block for the top, based on the shape there will be 2 135 degree ankle requiring a 22.5 degree miter. I have seen pictures of people doing this and it looks awesome; however reading certain places that expansion and contraction could cause the miter joints to gap long term. Glue? No glue?
I figure this would be a great application for a number of some Jig pockets screw on both sides to join the two pieces of wood. In researching I found this forum I though it would be worth asking around.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

I think I would rather use miter bolts than pocket holes/screws. The miter bolts would allow you to tighten if any gaps open over time.
Oh, and no glue. The miter bolts should keep the joint tight enough. Spilled liquids may still seep through the joint, though.
WHAT ARE MITER BOLT,S ?????? You have a pic. ????
Thank,s TIM , learned some thing new today , thanks for the reply and the pics. , JIM !!

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
