I want to use pocket screw joints to connect 2x6s and some boards will be close to seven feet long. Do I simply take pocket hole bushing assembly out of my K4 jig and clamp it to end of 2x6 or do I need HD jig?

I wouldn't go HD on that unless you are concerned bout the weight over the 7 foot span. The diameter of the screw should factor into your thinking, but on an end grain-to-end grain joint, I doubt that will be the most significant factor.

Of course, I never pass up a chance to buy more woodworking tools and anything made by Kreg is a good purchase by default. If you need protective cover/reasoning to justify purchasing the HD Jig for Spousal considerations, this is as valid as any.

Tom,

Look into using "bed frame hardward" for the bed frame rails.

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
