Kreg Owners' Community

Hi everyone, I know I am going to sound like a major dork, but here goes.

Have been seeing ya'lls commericials early in the morning when I get up from work and was impressed with all the kits that I saw.  They guy demonstrating your products just made everything he was working on look so easy to do.

I went to Home Depot and purchased a Kreg Jig K4 only because that is the only kit that they had.  In retrospect, probably should have ordered the Kreg DIY kit, but did not.

That being said, my daughter-in-law and I are looking for some easy projects to do with my new Kreg Jig next weekend.  I would love to have a sense of accomplishment and not defeat.

My daughter-in-law's would like to be able to make picture frames, floating shelves, and possibly something for storage.  Will her wish list items be attainable with the Kreg Jig.  If not, please provide me so guideance.

Thanks!

All of those could absolutely be done with the system you got! Just built a blanket chest for my daughters room with nothing else. The potting bench is the project for this weekend :-)

Okay, as the time nears, my palms are beginning to sweat.  I should really sit down and look at the five projects that were included in my kit and just go for it huh?  Will have pictures by next weekend.

You can do this :)

All of those are easily doable with the Kreg jig.  I would do them in reverse order you have them listed.  The picture frames are probably the most difficult, simply because the miters have to be cut pretty close to perfect to get all 4 corners to look right.   Good luck and have fun!

Hi Leslie.  On our website we offer a variety of free project plans, many of which are great for beginners.  To start, you might try building the Bookshelf, Jeff Devlin Bookcase, or Toy Box.  You may download the free plans here: https://www.kregtool.com/get-inspired/plans.aspx?source=1677.  Please Note: You will first need to create a kregtool.com or login if you already have one.

We also list a variety of other online sources (blogs, websites, etc.) that offer free plans here: http://kregjig.ning.com/forum/topics/project-plans-and-inspiration.  Ana White's website is great, http://ana-white.com/plancatalog, as you can search by project type, skill level, etc.

Thank you for posting, and Happy Building!

Leslie go for it!!!!

I am a "disabled" vet and use the kreg 5 for alot of things. Very simple and straightforward. I like their clamps that go into the pocket hole itself. I will us one on each side allowing me to wheel back and forth without worry. By wheel i mean in my chair. So if i guy dumb enough to get shoot at for a living can do it so can you!!

Biggest thing, have fun!!!

Love your reply Andrew! Being a Marine Corps vet myself I can relate. :)

@ Troy. Welcome home and thanks for having the fortitude to suit up. I am finding wood working to be really enjoyable and a great distraction for the brain.

Be Well

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
