We must have similar life situations I had a XJ 750 many years ago I bought as a almost wreck rebuilt it and rode it untill it virtually wore out, it was an amazing bike tough and powerfull as !  I thought yours looked like an XJ!

My wife also refers to my woodworking activities as my mistress as well. uncanny!!

Thanks Robert.

I did trust him, which is why I bought the Kreg.  He had not used it for something that was going to take abuse like the workbench will.  He had used it for cabinets, a couple of pieces of furniture and decking.

My wife now calls my Delta table saw my mistress.

Ahh, the bike.  It is a 1998 Yamaha Virago 1100.  Sadly, Yamaha stopped making them in about 2000 and put the engine into their "Star" line.  I put almost 100K on it before I sold it.  I've been meaning to replace, but the appetite for wood has been keeping the wallet empty.

I had an XJ550 that I rebuilt from the ground up!  Not quite a basket case, but when I paid as much to get the frame straightened as I did the bike in its entirety, I started to wonder.  Spent less than 1 month on the rebuild and sold it to a friend several months later (I liked my XS400 better, even though I had to get off and push going up the mountains!)

Interesting Info was the XJ550 the turbo version, I have never seen or heard of a XS400 in Australia.

Psst I still have the original Penthouse Mag dated March 1981 cover price $2.50  with a review of the XJ 750, The Virago, The Maxim 650, and The Exciter 185, & 250 a total of 12 Pages would you believe!  all have the same style and looks  ( apart from the 185 and 250 were chain drive) I keep it for the Article tee hee!!

Hello, my name is Luis and I'm new to woodworking/small projects but ready to start using my new Kreg Jig. I've decided to start with some pallets to learn how to use the jig and go from there.

Looking forward to many projects!

Hi Luis,  I'm Jan from IL and I too am new to woodworking and the Kreg Jig. I completed my first project-the Kreg Workbench-using reclaimed lumber(Oak & Maple) from pallets I received for free. I posted three pics and the story in the Projects section of this website. Am working on the 8'x2' Work Bench from the Shanty2Chic website now, also with reclaimed lumber-Southern Yellow Pine. Good luck and just pick one thing out and do it step by step and before long you will feel more and more comfortable. Good Luck!

Jan, you were some lucky to receive those pallets!! Congrats!!

Hey...my name is Tammye and I live in NE Oklahoma. Very close to Oologah Lake, small but good fishing! I fell in love with woodworking when my Dad made a doll house for my daughter for Christmas. We made furniture for the doll house together. That was Christmas of 92, my dad died in July 93. I started working on collecting saws, tools, etc so I could someday have a "real" woodworking shop. That day is here! I LOVE KREG JIGS, TOOLS ETC. lol They truly make it so much easier for a beginner! I joined Kreg community for sharing my love of woodworking, but mainly for experience/learning from what others post. I need help with layout of my shop so it will be as functional as possible. I have a 12x20 barn style bldg. Would like to put a loft in each end of shop for wood storage etc. I have a band saw, mounted router, scroll saw, table sander, miter saw and table saw. I have a 10' counter top with 2 cabinets under it for support. Will be building everything else. NEED IDEAS! PLEASE HELP! lol Thanks!

Lots (and I mean LOTS!) of woodworking shop layout ideas on the internet! It boggles the mind how much there is. Good luck with your set up-seems like you have a great start already.

Hello, my name is Corey and I am from north central Idaho. I am new to woodworking and really looking for another hobby to fill the long winter months when it is not car show season.

Hello everyone I'm New to the group. My name is Joe and I live in Tennessee but have only been here about three years. I have always done a bit of wood working I would consider myself intermediate I guess maybe a bit better than that, I just purchased the K4 master and I really like it,anyhow I'm proud to join the group and look forward to seeing all you folk's ideas and works and ill share mine as I go. :)

Well Welcome John@

When is a bonus not a bonus, ......very odd I must say,.... it was in the kit I purchased may years ago.

Not that I use it very much, but thats not the point,...  just the same, a very poor marketing technique of  "How to Pi** of customers even before they try the product in my way of thinking.

It is a very good pocket hole jig system!

Welcome John
Why don't you return the package to the store and explain what happened . Open the new box while there to make sure the dust collector is included in the box.
I am surprised at the answer Kreg gave you . This isn't a box of Cracker Jacks where it is a suprise in every box.
By the way my kit included the dust collector.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
