Hi Friends,
Trim router recommendations for edge trimming the plywood cabinets I am in the process of building for my garage -- using the Kreg Jig and Kreg Shelf Pin Jig, of course! I decided to try my hand at making my own solid wood trim.
Be well,
Nick

If I could do it again I would purchase the Dewalt Trim router just because of the Vacuum Accessories you can buy for it. It also gets pretty good reviews and can be combined with a Plunge Base. If your looking for a little more economical the Ridgid R2400(Lifetime Warantee) and Bosch Colt both make decent ones for around 99 dollars. I have owned both and both work work great.

Btw. You can also purchase a plunge base for the Bosch but its not economical to do.
Nick,
I've had 4 or 5 different trim routers.
Now, down to two, which includes the Bosch Trim Router.
Bosch PR20EVSK Colt™ Variable-speed Palm Router
The PR20 is available with a plunge base, the plunge base is a very beneficial feature.
The PR20 allows for making incremental depth cut adjustments, as well as fine tuning a cut depth.
The variable speed feature is a big plus.
Great for routing the smaller size objects and finishing edges/corners.
Bosch offers several optional accessories, including a dust vac attachment.
This router is my go-to router for my hand routing tasks, using smaller router bits.
I've attached the router fixed base to an auxiliary plastic base, and just drop the router into a smaller router table, dedicated for this unit. A handy feature for trimming and dressing smaller size work pieces and craft project pieces.
Great for the shop as well as for job site use.
NOTE: palm routers only facilitate 1/4" shank bits.
Inserts are available, purchased separately, to facilitate the smaller diameter metric bit shanks, for making small grooves and the like, as in engravings. Handy if you plan to make any engraved features in your wood working tasks.
Also, this router will accommodate the Dremel router bits, using the 1/4" to 1/8" shank adapter.
These smaller bits are ideal for the small routing tasks, for hobby and craft projects.
A great asset to your work-shop.
Happy routing.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
