Name - Jack Charity. Originally from Scotland. Been here, Louisiana, 26+ years, after 13 years in Africa where I became very self sufficient by necessity, in car repair and construction, including carpentry ("joinery" in UK, where "carpenters" make furniture and "joiners" build houses), A/C and electrical work, and plumbing. (I can't believe that the US, well Southern States anyway, have taken so long to realize the advantages of PEX !).
I am a Nurse Practitioner by trade, but have always liked DIY, mainly because we Scots are thrifty (some would say "mean") and I just do not like paying hundreds of dollars for something I can do better myself.
About to start making some Plantation Shutters, and Pocket Joinery with plugs and paint will be perfect.
After very little research, it became apparent that the Kreg system had covered all the bases from jigs to screws. No point in inventing the wheel twice. So now, I too am a Kreggie.
Good night!
My name is Augusto Moraes.
I was born in the state of Bahia / Brazil and currently live in Brasília / Brazil.
'm Inicinado in joinery. I am here to exchange ideas.

Hello, my name is Charlie, I live in the central part of England and have been woodworking for most of my adult life. Now recently retired, I will have more time to progress my wood skills. I have just laid out a new wood shop at home and will finish this over the next few weeks. I am a turner and also make small furniture pieces, up to now as gifts for family and friends. I have posted a quick shot of a couple of rustic oak door stops made from a nominal 150mm (6 inch) square oak beam. The handles are manilla rope, which has been made into a soft eye. I will post some turned items later.
My first Kreg tool was the mitre gauge, and also the featherboard kit. I plan to use the mitre gauge on a table saw as an upgrade, and on the bandsaw - which did not come with one! The featherboards are for the router table and the jointer.
I have joined the community to share ideas, tips and plans.
Cheers!
Charlie
Hi fellow Kreg enthusiasts!
I'm Jen and I run The House of Wood, a DIY and design blog. I'm a performing songwriter by trade, but when I was pregnant with our first child (3 years ago), the nesting instinct hit me hard. I dove head first into the world of DIY and have been loving it ever since! I enjoy building furniture and use the Kreg Jig for pretty much everything I build! I'm an Army wife, so we're constantly on the move, but we originally call Nashville home.
Looking forward to checking out your projects!
Hi Jen,
My wife's dad was a long-time British Army man, so we are aware of the constant moving thing!
How does your blog work - do you have a link?
What are you working on at the moment?

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
