Hi Cheryl,   I too started with the Jr and soon after purchased the K4.   Real wood furnishings were out of my price comfort zone or would not fit desired spaces.  Like you, I discovered that I enjoyed making my own even with the trials and errors.   This site has some helpful tips from many so do not fear jumping in!

Jeff,   good job on the fireplace.   Making a headboard is on my to do list but like you,  living in Michigan and the weather until lately has been less than ideal.   This last winter was long and brutal!

Paul Crow is my name and I guess you could say that the Kreg jig (K4) got me into woodworking.  I had never done anything with wood before except building a treehouse when I was a boy.  The Kreg jig introduced me to a solid way of joining wood together and the possibilities became endless.  After building a couple of Ana White's designs, I have started to design my own pieces and I really love it.  Big thanks to Kreg not only for their tools, but also for their wealth of information online for a neophyte like me.

I ripped out the old fireplace and replaced it with a custom cabinet and entertainment setup. Currently I am working on a computer desk with two tall cabinets and file drawers under the desk top. Its been a painful process since I work in a two car garage and the weather in Michigan has all but cooperated. Looking forward to hearing about some of your projects as well!

A few years ago I took a night woodworking class at the local high school.  It basically introduced me to the machines while I got a small project done.  I chose a bench.   I've been trying small projects on my own since then.  I did a second (Ana White) bench,  a third, rustic, bench (out of recycled wood), and a wall mounted holder of four tv remote controls.   For the Ana White bench, I had Home Depot cut the boards, (for free).  Two of these four projects had pocket hole joinery.   I have a Kreg jig, a miter saw and a drill.

My name is Joe Krusz, retired in Pittsburgh PA.  I have been working with wood for a long time, but do not consider myself a master.  I've completed some large projects, kitchen cabinets (1 year), added a deck, then a roof over it and finally made it a sun room, with a  small deck attached.  (3 summers, My most ambitious project.) Furniture that has passed the test of time and 30 years of Christmas ornaments.  This started out as an exchange, then family & friends.  Now I make about 50 per year.  

I am / was a drill & dial user until recently.  My daughter in law took a class at the local Kreg dealer and ended up buying the HD jig.  I think mostly because  the accompanying clamp was $5.00.  Anyway, one visit she showed me a farm style dining room table plan that she would finish if I made the table.  It's hard to say no to a very pregnant woman, so I borrowed her jig and plans, modified them and built the table.  Being a drill & dial person, I am delighted that the Kreg jigs gave me a different option for assembling boards.  She's thrilled, the baby is doing fine, and the table is sitting in her garage ready to be finished. The bench probably weighs in at 70 lbs, the table much more.  You'll see why if the files transfer.  I too, am thrilled and want to show it to someone.  What better forum than the Kreg community.  Incidentally, I bought the HD jig to complement the kit I already had.   So here it is;

Started building things in the house, decorating and partition walls, etc, and got the bug to build things for the house - as a hobby!

Might start hand-building kitchen units in the utility room - using pocket hole technology, so bought the Kreg K4MS.  Might swap it for the K5, though...

Hello everyone my name is Donald and I have been woodworking on and off for well over 20 years, woodshop in high school really started my love for woodworking. I mostly do scrollsaw work but make other projects when needed. I am in the process of reorganizing my shop, I recently moved and went from a crowded 24 by 24 shop to a 20 by 32 shop with a smaller shop and office attached on the end ( both are 10 by 18 ) so I plan on using the K5 jig to build cabinets and stands for my various benchtop tools. I've never used a pocket hole jig before but I really think this tool is going to save me a lot of time and ease of building.
