Danny from North TX. No experience to speak of but always thought i might enjoy. The wife wants to turn spare room into her closet and wanted some free standing shoe shelves so this will be my starting place. Got a Kreg Jig for Christmas and picked up a Dewalt bench top table saw the other day. Looking forward to this and many future projects. Any help for this rookie would be appreciated.

Hi there,
My name is Greg Shwaga. I am from vanguard, Saskatchewan and teach shop to Grades 7-12 students. I have used the Kreg Jig for two years now. It has changed the options that my students have for woodworking projects. Previously we were limited because of complex and expensive joinery methods. The Kreg Jig makes woodworking much simpler for beginners such as us.
Hello and greetings from Southern California! My name is Billy.
I saw the info-mercial and I thought to myself "Gimme some that". I have never done anything in the way of finish woodwork and I figured this is a good way to get started.
Hello, my name is Tom and I live St. Paul MN. I have been doing wood working out of need. Owning a house you must be able to woodworking and or repairs So I have decided to start doing projects that would be fun or help me organize my tools. The Kreg tools have peeked my interest, to get started building things that I liked creating. The Kreg joinery has made the completion of projects stronger and easier. I'm looking forword to learning new skills and ideas. I like the mix of pro and amateur skill levels to learn from. I also think tool review is very helpful for the rookies to help us in are decision making on equipment and supply's.
Hello, My name is Paul Steiner and I live in Woodbridge Virginia. I teach carpentry at a local high school and I also do a lot of woodwork at home. I bought my first Kreg jig about 8 years ago and I have been hooked. As for skill level I am probably an expert or close to it. As far as projects I build furniture, lots of shop stuff, lots of cutting boards and lathe work. I really like this site and forum lots of woodworkers to interact without discussions turning into debates on who has the bigger saw.
I am a older type lady that likes to work with wood . I also work at Gaurdian Inc. or now name costume glass solution . I do the wood working in my spare time . love to make things out of wood . I live in Ohio and my name is Violet . I just made a picture frame with the jig and it was really easy to make. Hoping to find plans for my next project.
Gooday,
My name is Bruce and I live in Blackmans Bay which is15 Km, (10 Miles) south of Hobart in Tasmania, Australia.
I am 66 and I retired at the end of September last year. My wife and I sold up our house in Melbourne and we have settled in a slightly cooler, but much more beautiful area of Australia.
During my working life as a Hydraulic Engineer I spent 16 years working for a timber company and was involved in the designing of plant and equipment ranging from the handling of green sawn timber through to air and kiln drying, grading, machining and marketing of our product.
The local "product" being a wide range of Eucalypt and various other hardwood species. During this time I developed an interest in making furniture out of the kiln dried product and found it very satisfying.
I have not had the opportunity to do a great deal over the past 15 years but now that I am retired I am well and truly intending to dive back in.
I recently purchased a Kreg Master System and I am delving into the great unknown, so to speak, I have a Saw Bench, Router Table, Thicknesser and numerous other Power Tools so there isn't too much that I am not willing to have a go at.
Tasmania is somewhat famous for its local species including Sassafras, Myrtle & Huon and Celery Top Pine. The first project is a table out of Celery Top Pine for the new 57" TV and it is progressing quite well.
Enough for now, I am curious to follow the workings of this Community, it seems very interesting and helpfull.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
