Kreg Owners' Community

Hi Folks!,

I'm new to the whole Kreg tool and community but I think It's a great system.

I have a question that I fugure you fine folks can give me at least a ballpark answer.

Here it is -- How narrow of a cabinet or shelf unit can be built with the craig system.

I understand drill length can be a factor but is it possible to build 12" or narrower if needed?

Thinking like a tray storage or narrow nightstand/book nook for my little one for beside the bed.

Thanks ahead for your kind replies.

Pics would be great too!

a new brother looking forward to the sawdust,

Thanks for the response.
I can tell from it that yourreally like the system, but may have misunderstood my question.

Let me lay it out this way for you or others who might be able to answer.

I want to build a narrow book case we'll say 12" w x 24" h x 16"deep with 2 full width shelves.
Can I build this narrow? Is the case to narrow to mount the shelves since Kreg suggest about 6" spacing.
I know i can get the top and botttom to make the case itself but can I use the Kreg system on the middle shelves?
I don't see how I can get to the screws in the middle of the shelves to install the Kreg screws.
Drill body + length of Kreg driver bit + length of screw = more than the 10" inside the box.

Is there some other method or tool, using Kreg system to, be able to get inside the case?

Just thought i'd ask the experts first before I got stuck trying to figure out how to get to those middle screws.

Thanks again!

As narrow as you want. The Kreg jig is only limited by the material thickness.
I have used a 90 deg. drill and i have also used a 1/4'' drve ratchet with a deep 1/4'' socket to get to screws were you dont have enoughroom for a standard drill, harbor freight sells a close quaters drill for around 25.00

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
