this is not neccessarily a kreg jig question, but i thought i would seek some knowledge from you all my fellow travelers on the wood working path.
A dear friend of mine-- A man who loves his cigars and whom I consider a mentor, helper, and father figure .
I hope to make him a humidor for Christmas. TO my understanding it isn't difficult, but not ther easiest thing in the world. Primarily because of the necessity for an air tight lid.
Has anyone here tried their hand at making a humidor? If so, do you have any words of advice? I have a project that I will be finishing today (my 4th animal zoo as seen in my photos and projects sections here at our kreg community which really has helped with some extra christmas money!!!). And would like to pick up supplies as soon as I get paid for this zoo.
I truly appreceate any advice and help that I may receive. Y'all have always been a great resource for me. Thanks

Use Spanish Cedar for the lining.
Wipe the resin off the cedar with acetone or lacquer thinner, and sand the small specks away with 220 grit sandpaper.
Seal with several coats of shellac, to prevent moisture absorbtion.
You want a close fitting lid, so as to maintain 50 - 65% humidity, inside the box.
(Use a moistened sponge to keep the humidity inside, during use).
Make accurately fitted parts and joints.
thank you sir. i truly appreciate the help.
