I cannot get up on a ladder and hammer or screw away for any length of time putting up lights and garland. I came up with an idea that may help ppl such as myself. I am handy with a saw and screw driver so I decided to make a fake door way. Well sort of. I got some 1x2's, white lumber (you can paint the wood any color to match your house, mine were already painted white they very inexpensive at Home Depot) I measured the door around the outside and cut the wood to fit and made a frame. I put a hinge in the middle of the top piece of would so I could just fold it when the holiday is over.
I used my Kreg Jig to secure the top to the two sides, just one screw on each. Now it is just like a half a face frame. I laid the frame on the floor and I attached lights and garland going around several times to get the best amount of lights I could. I had to make sure the plug was in the right place for access to the door. I put two screws over the door jam (sticking up) just that when I lifted the frame and place it on the top the screws would hold it in place. After placing the frame up I used a tiny L bracket to attach the frame to the door, just a precaution if the wind blows.
Now every Christmas when all my neighbors are on their ladders fussing with lights and a staple gun all I have to do is hook the frame I made over the two screws (that cannot really be seen) and screw in at two places and I am all set. The rest of the house is your problem I only do doors and trees.. :)
No more climbing ladders, taking it down is also so easy it is sinful,. Unhook it , fold it in half and put it in the back closet out of the way or in the garage whatever you want. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
