Hi all -

John here from the midwest, all around handyman, getting into work working.  I recently purchased a Kreg after I saw a friend of mine make some very nice cabinets, and now I have a few projects up my alley.  Father of 4, my youngest and oldest son 5 and 9, also enjoy wood working and they are always there wanting to help!

Our biggest project is a tree house, I hope the Kreg can help make it easy to do!

Hi my name is Rich and I live in Pearl River N.Y.  I would like to try my hand at some woodworking , never had the time . I am now retired and have some time even with nine grandchildren, they do keep you young. I just bought a kreg jig my sons father in law told me about. The only thing I  had made in the past were a few bird houses, and put up some crown molding . Just wanted to say hi and thank you.

Hi, my name is Brett and I'm in the Greater Boston Area.  I've been a DIYer for several years and moving around while on active duty in the Air Force I've always had to fight through limitations with the size of my workspace and the tools I had to work with.  That's changed now, I finally had the space to build a nice little workshop and one of the best tools I've purchased is my Kreg Jig.  I'll post my entry way benches shortly, I found the plans at Popular Mechanics of all places and finally built them using the Kreg Jig.  I've also used my Kreg to build props for the local high school and middle school theater productions.  A great addition to my small and growing arsenal.

Welcome Brett

You will have fun with your Kreg Jig, it makes joints that hold better than 100MPH tape !!

Hi everyone!  I'm Zac, and I live in Northern California.  I'm a surfer from SoCal, and the reason I got involved in the Kreg Jig is because I owned a bunch of surfing movie posters that I've been wanting to get framed.  I found it too expensive to get non-standard sized pictures or photos framed, so I started to build and create my own frames.  The Kreg Jig allowed me to put my own style (type of wood, color, finish, etc.) into my frames.  I soon started repairing wooden tables, chairs, etc.  I also found myself building my own work bench!  Working with wood is difficult, interesting, fun, and messy!  I am amazed at all of the cool looking projects people have put together in the Kreg Community.  I hope to get a chance to communicate with you soon!

Hi...my name is John.  I live in eastern Ontario, Canada.  Most of the woodwork I do is job related - my brother and I are the sixth generation to live/work on our family farm.  I have an interest in rustic furniture, especially working with local wood and salvaged barn boards.  ...currently we're renovating our workshop and remodeling parts of the house,   but I have lots of projects lined up for the Kreg jig

Hi. My name is George. I live in Greensboro, N.C. and am recently retired. I look forward to numerous woodworking and rod building projects. Bought a Craig Jig last week.

Hello everyone.  I am Chris from Flagstaff, AZ.  Currently I run a custom Bed making business on the side but would like to see that grow and maybe expand into other furniture and wood products.  I am new to the Kreg system but so far I am really excited to get started using my new tools.  I have been looking at project photos.  Y'all make some really nice stuff and everyone posts such positive comments for each other which might be what I like best.  I feel that I am joining a very warm and welcoming community of woodworking sisters and brothers.  I can't wait to get started.  My first project will be a corner tv stand so if anyone has a good set of plans to get me started, I would certainly appreciate it.  Keep up the great mutual support and I plan to be on the forum as often as possible.  Thanks for having me!

Christopher, just do a search for "TV Stand", etc. in the Projects section.  You'll probably find many cool designed projects that our community has created.  That's kinda what I did!

Anyways, welcome!

Hey Chris,

I'm interested in how you got your bed business started.  I love making custom furniture, and have sold some things, especially around Christmas.  But I'd like to do more.  How do you get most of your business?

Thanks!

Hello, My name is Larry Tramel and I live in SC.  I used to do carpentry work when I lived in KY 13 years ago.  When I am working with wood I have no stress and I love the joy that I give to those who my creations are given too.  I am not an expert in wood working and am full of questions for those that have the years under their belts.  I am looking forward to many new creations in the future and I will share photos for all too see.

Hi Becky.  My primary source of advertising is on Craigslist.  My hope is to slowly build the business until I can garner enough orders to hopefully pursue the work fulltime.  I rely on word of mouth from my existing customers as well.  I love to build Murphy Beds so at this time I am also going around to the mattress stores and talking with the owners.  Since I make beds that need mattresses, maybe they can refer people to me.
