Someone has this older model craftsman table saw for sale, and I was wandering what any of yall thought about it? It is 3 hp but I have heard that sears hp rating can be a little overrated. What would this be worth to you, or would it be worth buying at all? Thanks

Jerrod, I also have an old Craftsman contractor TS. It's a real workhorse. The motor and cast iron top are great. But it's not a woodworker's saw. Good for contractors, but not for cabinet makers.
If you do decide to buy one, note that several upgrades will be needed. You gotta get a new fence. Delta has one for $150 or so, but needs new holes to adapt to the Craftsman. A better miter helps, as do segmented belts and machined pulleys, and dust collection.
