This weekend I am going to build a small wall cabinet for the bedroom I am trying to turn into a small workshop. I will build it out of plywood and am going to paint the outside with chalk board paint: Question: Is one brand of paint better than the other, and which color is best, green or black?  And feed back will be great.
Thank you

Well as far as I now there anit and I would go with the green every body is doing black .

I saw a product on a home show Direct TV that used  a  dark color for base and then there was a clear product applied over it and you used a dry marker. You could see base coat  and top coat was transparent

Rust oleum makes it. A kit that comes in two parts. Pour one into the other and paint extremely smooth. The key is the smoothness. Unless your surface is like glass you will be disappointed at the writing surface as well as when you clean or erase the board. They also make white erase board paint and a metallic base paint if you want to make your board magnetic. I purchased all 3 to make a combo board for my daughters playroom. The finished board sits in my garage as scrap (project was north of $100 not including the cost of time it took to apply multiple coats) (they also require a 3 day curing period before you can write on them.) My daughter's room now has a $20 art easel from ikea, one side for each board both of which are far smoother than I could achieve with a foam roller on finely sanded quality plywood. Hind sight is 20/20 and I should have purchased the easel to begin with. I got the paint kits from Home Depot. Have also seen them at osh hardware.
