have a question to ask .I bought a used kregg jig 2000 with case and it has both the double jig as well as the single. but no instruction. I,m seeing the main base is Differant, mine doesnt have the slide down in and set screw to lock the jig in place ,. So i cant figure out how its properly used it must be a earlier version if any body has the earlier one like this Id like to give you a call and ask about this type .tnx keith

I think you will really enjoy having the pocket hole jig. There are so many applications you can use it on, although so far I have only used it on joining frame members (pieces perpendicular to each other) myself but hope to have other types of projects to use it on.

Hello -

My name is James DuHamel, and I live in Southeast Texas. I have been involved with woodworking/construction in some sort of fashion almost my whole life. I am currently working in the refining industry, and have not had a lot of opportunity to do woodworking for the last few years. I am getting back into things at a slow pace, but the need to get back into it hard and heavy is fast approaching (home repairs, etc...)
I've had my Kreg jig for a long time (it's solid metal, not plastic if that gives you an idea), and I have used it for a lot of interesting projects. I look forward to seeing how some of the rest of the world uses theirs, and getting some great tips on woodworking.

Hello from another new member - I am Bill, from Cary, NC. I used to spend time in the workshop my father had, but after moving away from home I haven't had a decent place to work. Finally, I have a garage which can be transformed into a workshop, and have really enjoyed it. I bought a Kreg jig about 3 years ago, and use it often. Pocket screws are great for pulling together table tops, for assembling the inside framework of a chest of drawers, for attaching face frames, etc. I have just finished up a bedroom suite which includes a king bed, 2 bedside tables and 2 chests of drawers. I have a few pictures up, and frankly I am still amazed at how nicely it turned out. I have been enjoying working with quarter sawn oak, which can have some amazing grain patterns, is very stable, and finishes up quite nicely.
My latest Kreg acquisition is a band saw fence, which I just received as a gift. Now, I have to find a few projects to make use of it . . . .

My name is Allen, I live in Galena, KS and I've been in cabinet & hobby work for over 40 years. I had heard of pocket joints for years but never really took them serious until last year when I bought a Kreg jig to do my bathroom cabinets & now I'm hooked. I joined to see what everyone else was doing with the Kreg jigs.

I'm Geoff, i'm in Prince George, BC Canada. At best, i'm a hack woodworker, but I just completed my first projects (a dresser/change table and a pair of 4ft long floating shelves) with my newly purchased Kreg Jig. It made the job so much easier than i though it would be.

Geoff, can you post pics of the dresser? What other tools did you use?

I'm curious as I have committed to building a new chest of drawers/dresser for my son and I don't have a table saw or a router or a biscuit joiner, etc. I have a Kreg Pocker Jig, a circular saw, a jig saw, a drill, and a sander (the crappy back and forth kind), plus hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, etc.

Hi Michael, I'll see if i can post some pics. My "power" tool list included, the following: Kreg Jig Master Kit, Drill, Circular Saw, Table Saw, Sliding compound mitre saw (you could easily use the circular saw if you didn't have these, they're just quicker) and an orbital sander
