I am building the Kreg router table cabinet that is in the Projects section. This is a straight forward plan, except for the hinges. All they say about them is that they are euro. hinges. They did not list them on the shopping list. Has anybody built this cabinet. If you have what ind of hinges did you use.

Tim,

There are a variety of ''euro'' hinges.

Just select a style/type, that you have ready access, from your local hardware supplier.

Tim,

I built the router cabinet not to long ago. I got my hinges at the Rockler store near me in Calif. Is that the hinges for the door where the router is? If so check there they may be able to help you. The cabinet was alot of fun to build. I took my time and all I have left to do now is paint the cabinet. I just installed the benchdog router lift and 3hp port cable router, LOTS OF POWER. Enjoy.

I found some 1/4 overlay hinges at Menards here in Indiana. I to am starting to paint my cabinet. I took a brace off of my table and had the paint matched to it. I also moved the switch up above the table. I made the switch riser from 1/8 X 2" flat stock and bent it so that I could attach it to the back left leg.  If I was to make another I would use 3/16 X 2". Bending the 3/16 would require using a brake to bend it.

Tim,

I've bent 1/4 x 2 bar stock---

Clamp the bar in a HD bench vise, and tap on it, with a 5lb sledge, to form a 90 degree bend.

A large pipe wrench, clamped at one end of the bar stock, and apply a downward force, while pounding with the sledge.

The wrench will assist in bending the bar stock---it'll keep pressure on the bar stock, while pounding with the sledge, so as to keep the bar stock from springing back.

I am happy with the one I have. This was a suggestion to anybody else who might want to do the same. The 1/8"  was just a bit flexible for my likes. But I reenforced it with another piece of 1/8" and it is fine. I know that it can be bent like you stated, but bending it with a brake keeps it straight.

Break forming is the way to go, if you have access to the machine.
