I'm making a bookcase where I'm going to be using 3/4 mat'l, but only 1/2 mat'l for the back. How do you set the jig up to attach the two dif. thickness' of materials??
Set it for 3/4 and use 1" screws? I don't want to do it wrong, but I also don't want to ruin my project !!!
Any help would be appreciated...
Thx, B

You should watch this video....
best thing to do is test on some scrap, if your drilling in the 1/2 inch material then the settings should be for that, attatching it to thicker material doesn't matter, you may however be able to use a longer screw than for 1/2 inch but a test should definitely be made so you don't mess up your project
I recently did this with walnut. Joined a 1/2 inch piece to a 3/4 inch piece. As previously stated, ALWAYS do a test case. I used one inch kreg screws (for joining hardwood not soft woods) and it worked fine. Be sure to use the correct screw for the type of wood your using. If joining hardwood to soft wood use the screws for hardwood.
