Kreg Owners' Community

Dear Folks,

I am in the process of purchasing the Master Kreg system. I am a novice DIYer. I was wondering what other items I need to purchase in order to make two cabinets for my bathroom.

I am going to use the cabinets manual from Kreg. I have a drill, circular saw, Black & Decker table to hold the wood while cutting. This is my first project using the system and I was not sure about what I am doing or what else i need to make a basic cabinet.

Your help will be appreciated.

Extra clamps maybe, and definitely at least one face clamp (2 would be better) if you are doing any face framing.
extra scraps of wood of your project.. make your cuts on your scrap before making your cuts on your project wood. old saying was "measure twice cut once" not me i measure setup, double check setup measurement, cut on scrap wood then measure cut. tighten down stops and fences. lastly cut the project pieces. so extra wood always.
Lu,
Great question! Here are a few great tips from our Facebook followers!

I'd say some clamps, good edge guide for the saw and practice joining on some scraps if you can. The kreg pocket hole system is pretty easy to use but things may move on you if you don't have the technique down, especially if you use glue.
I bought the Kreg Jig Master system for $150 from Busy Bee in Canada. Additionally I bought the 90degree clamp. You will need pretty much both of those to build your cabinets.

The system is awesome - I build two benches in under 2 hours for the first time. You can buy the smaller system, but you will be headed right back to pick up the other pieces as you will discover 100's of uses for them.

Good luck - if you use Google Sketchup, send me the plans you make for your cabinet, and I'll share some of my designs... :-)

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
