Kreg Owners' Community

I just built these shelves for the home office. The desk below looks absolutely horrible, but the wife is in the middle of reorganizing everything. This pic was taken about an hour after I hung the shelf unit. The shelf is 6' wide and about 26" tall. The bottom shelf is 14" deep... just enough for the scanner and printer to sit comfortably. Everything is made from "Radiata" pine from Home Depot and assembled with Kreg pocket hole screws. It is attached to the wall with pocket hole screws as well. I am fortunate that all of the walls of my house are skinned in OSB on the inside... that makes it really easy to attach shelving.

Sounds like the same thing, Phil.

Nice shelves. Like clamps or cash, you can never have too many.

What is the ""Radiata" pine" ? I bought some South American pine at HD and then never saw it again. I liked it because there were no knots or other blemishes. Is your pine the same thing?

Phil
There does not seem to be much support in the center.. Did you use the Jig to secure the shelves to the wall? What is stopping it from sagging?
I have no idea where the species Radiata comes from but it's the primary Pine we use and grow in Australia. It's the cheap all rounder here I guess you would say.

Nice work Jesse! My office looks the same and I could sure use some more storage. Those shelves are a great idea!
