As my first Kreg project I am building the workbench as per the project plan page. I made a mistake with the leg heights and having completed the bench save adding the worktop, the bench will be 1 cm shorter than my other bench. I could put 1cm pieces under each leg but feel all the hard work of making the bench will be undermined by the obvious leg extensions. Is there another way to raise it under the worktop so it won't show but will also enable me to secure the worktop?
Appreciate any ideas.
Cheers.

I would just add extra piece to the worktop, that way it becomes like a sacraficial worktop and you can replace it when it when gets too dinged up and your workbench will be like new again. Trim any extra from your legs to suit the correct height your after.
I agree with AL, 1 cm (10mm) plywood should be easy enough to find. Either that or add that to the top of the frame and then install your top.
Or shim under the table top You could add a decorative band of contrasting wood as a "planned" accent.
Guys,
Thanks for the responses, sensible approaches will head to the store this weekend and hopefully get it all finished up.

You could put any size plywood on the top and then shave down the legs to make them match up too. Might be cheaper than finding a special size plywood.
OP is from the UK so I doubt 10mm is particularly "special".

I agree with the others,I used 1/4 masonite on mine 23 ago.Still going strong. If I mess up real bad I fill with bondo & go on.One other idea would be to just put levers on each leg.very help[full if floor were to have highs & lows. DENO
Haedwood makes A nice sacraficial top to A work bench. Cheap. Easy to replace. Tough.
Sorry about the spelling. I meant hardwood.
Didn't you really mean Hard board, ie Masonite?
just noticed my spelling.I meant adjustable height screw type levelers on the bottom of the legs asyou see on most tables. DENO
I think DENO has the best idea.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
