Kreg Owners' Community

Just thought I would start a discussion on woodworkers real jobs. It would be fun to no if there are lots of professional people using Kreg Jig along with people  like myself a retired  construction worker.

Hi everyone. My name is Terry from Farmington, Missouri. I'm a Vice President of a community bank working with commercial loans and getting ready to open up our first branch. I love what I do but I love woodworking even more. I won't do projects for anyone else except for my family. For me it takes to joy out of woodworking when I have to be concerned about it being someone elses project. My projects don't always end up "perfect" so when it's for me only I know of any mistakes. I just try to learn from my mistakes and do better next time.
Hi! I'm David From Mississippi. I am a sheet metal contractor. This is something I've been doing all my life. I've always liked trying things with wood but never had the time to actually have a project to work on to improve my skills. I can build just about anything from metal, but thats my job. I wanted a hobby besides hunting and fishing. I just had a new house built and now have plenty of woodworking projects to keep me busy at night and Saturdays. I hope to learn a lot from guys who are more into the work than I am. I can tell you working with wood is a a challenge when you have to buy all new tools to work with. You cant cut wood with tin snips.
Tim Yep.. I am over behind the speedway. It will be 9 years in August. I have seen a few of those floating around the shop here. Glad to see another Local guy.

I am the IT Director for the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Woodworking is a great break away from computers all day long. Is it bad though that I spend ALOT of time on the computer reading, watching and writing about woodworking. I should probably spend some more time in the shop. :)
Retired Middle School Principal. Not sure if I miss the 1200 6 -8th grade wonderful kids. But sure miss the activity and reaffirmation of the joys of life they demonstrate.

DAYTIME JOB: I've owned a burglar alarm company for 31 years now. We cater to new construction, so I'm always around carpenters and the " trades". About 5 years ago, a customer called me because she had enclosed her patio and needed the new windows and door connected to the alarm. The construction was so bad ( I mean really bad) I offered to tear it out and redo the whole room. It turned out great, so I started doing remodeling for anyone I can. I'ts turned out to be a lot of fun and lucrative at the same time.
Retired Respiratory Therapist. Woodworking since 1975. I do remember punch cards.
I'm a retired pastor and adjunct professor at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Worked construction while in seminary, and had woodworking as a hobby since I was in high school.
Hi Jens, Great thread For the past 40 odd years I have been and still am a Denturist here in western Canada. So by day make Dentures and in the evening and spare time I butcher wood, which I find is a great stress reliever. I enjoy cabinet making and carving.
You two guys just became my favorite friends on here...lol...seriously though...would love to find a way to incorporate my woodworking skills into the NASCAR world...

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
