Basically my question is a simple one....can you use the deck jig without using spacers between the boards?   I'm in the process of building a deck and I plan on using the deck jig to install my deck boards but I don't want any spaces between my boards...there will be plenty of space once they shrink!!  I'll be ready to put the deck boards on by this weekend - weather permitting - so any help here quickly would be greatly appreciated.   You can also email me direct rweeks1@roadrunner.com

Thanks

I haven't tried it myself, but I don't see why not. Looks as if there is a $20 mail in rebate for the deck jig as well if you buy it before May 31.
I don't think you will have room to put screws in the edge of the board that is butted. I suppose you could just screw one edge down but I suspect you would end up with one strange looking deck if using wood.
John you make a good point.  I guess I was assuming tongue and groove for some reason.
I sure wish I had known what I know now before I purchased my deck jig and screws!!  Oh well, maybe some other project down the road?!!

You could always put pocket screws in from the bottom.. Likely not a very pleasant job on a deck but worked pretty well on a picnic table. I was looking at the deck jig last summer and the increased labor turned me off.... hey, nobody bats 1000.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
