Kreg Owners' Community

After searching for a corner unit for our LCD TV and finding nothing that we wanted, I told my wife that I would build one because I had just gotten the Kreg jig. She was a little surprised to hear this since I had never made anything 'furniture like' in my life. Since I decided to build it in a hexagon shape, I had to deal with 22.5 degree angles. This forum helped me to understand how to make them and I was very pleased with the results. I tell people that working with the Kreg jig is like "building from the inside out". You don't see any nail holes on the outside! I have attached a picture of the finished piece and just want to thank all who helped on this forum while building it. Can't wait to start the next project!

John, that is an absolutely beautiful TV stand! Great job... I really like the design, I can't believe you've never build furniture before... you should be proud. Like many have said before, the Kreg Jig really gives you the confidence to try things you haven't tried before.

Looking forward to seeing your next project!
Thanks Bob, really appreciate it!!
Nice job! Thanks for the picture.
Thats awesome! I have similar situation but was unsure how to go about it let alone get started. Your project is inspiring is is givoing me lots of ideas.
John,

Very nice looking unit what wood did you use it's got good color, als did you use kreg screws for the top(counter top)
and did u you use glue on those pices or just screws
Thanks
Jeff
Teriffic!!!
Hi Jeff, thanks for the nice comments. The wood I used was maple. I used an oil based polyurethane for the finish because I was told that this type of polyurethane gives a golden color to the wood (which it did). The top of the unit is solid maple so I used glue and kreg screws to join the pieces together, I also used kreg screws to join the top of the unit to the base.

Beautiful! Did you make the panels using Kreg tools or something else?

I haven't used my jig yet, but my daughtern has assigned me a project to rebulid the top of a hutch I built about 25 years ago. I'm thinking it should be a piece of cake with the jig.

Again, your hutch is beautiful!

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
