I started making the bird house tonight and I bought/used Gorilla Glue on it.

The Gorilla Glue was so slick that the Kreg right-angle clamp couldn't hold.

What glues do you all like? Should I have stuck with Tightbond?

I have the dark brown Gorilla Glue. It did expand after drying, but I was able to sand it smooth.

Do you notice the yellow (or Tightbond) glue to slick or more tacky after applying?

Hi Tom,
I tend to use Titebond III as my 'go to' glue of choice and have always had good luck with it. That said I have also used 'Gorilla Glue' on occasion with success. The problem that I have found with the latter is that once the container is opened the glue has a tendency to cure in a comparatively short time. Not in days, mind you, but more in the way of a few weeks, rather than the several months that you can normally expect with Titebond/yellow-glue.
FYI, I also keep and use Epoxy, CA and 'Barge' (i.e. Contact Cement) at different times and for different jobs.
I think that it all boils down to trying several different kinds of adhesive and then settling on one or two that you feel most comfortable with for the majority of you work.
Good Luck to you.
Phil

I am a fan of yellow glue. It has not let me down in my endeavor to build and craft whatever comes to mind. I do know that professional furniture makers have used yellow glue with great success. I have to be honest though, I have never tried Gorilla glue.

I have used both titebond II & gorilla glue had good luck with both. I used the white gorilla glue as it does not expand and dries a natural color. The " brown colored foaming" glue will expand, but is great for outdoor projects. I do prefer gorilla glue because I have had better luck with it at both high and low temps, but both work well.

Tom, although I'm new to the Kreg Community, I have built things in the past that required a lot of glueing. In my screen printing/sign shop we needed a large work table and my son, who is 6ft. 5 in. tall wanted it taller than a normal table to work on signs and banners. We built one using 2X4's and I used Gorilla Glue and screws to attach everything together. Before Gorilla glue, I was using regular "carpenters glue", so I "slathered" (a cooking term meaning liberally apply) the gorilla glue. Wrong move as the Gorilla glue continues to expand like the insulation foam.
Does it hold? Oh yes. If we ever decide to move this table out of the shop, I'll have to take a chain saw to it.
I just purchased some Tightbond for a future project I'm preparing for now, and from what I've read and researched on other sights, it is very good.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
