I made my own jig that lays against fence and then your molding in there and add lower board below that and there you have it .works great. it is not as compact as the Kreg jig however

When we bought this present home all but one room has crown molding. My neighbor across the street does this kind of work and I have seen his homemade jig. I thought to myself oh well, I guess my room wont get done. After seeing your jig there is hope yet for this ole boy. I definitely will be in the market for one when that time comes.

As always, I am anxious for the next great invention. I hope that Rockler will be carrying this item as of March first. Can't wait to try it out. Saw the video and thought it was just great and simplified. Anything that avoids coping is just what I need...yeah.

Do you need a miter saw to perform these cuts? Or can you use a table saw or band saw?
I am very interested in this tool. I'm just not ready to purchase a miter saw.

I agree with you David. Tried to put crown in my study, and it was quite expensive. Wasted a bunch of molding and broke a nice desk in the process. Not even going to tell you how my wife reacted. I will try anything once and if it taste good i will try it again. lol

After examining the photograph more closely, this may be another version of another style of "crown stops" The crown mldg pictured, shows it being cut upside down, just like a crown stop. If that's the case, tou may sell a lot of em. How satisfied the consumer's going to be remains to be seen. Some consumers, after purchasing the Kreg Jig,and being impressed at it's ease of use,may believe this new tool also to be another idiot proof addition to their tool box. Installing expensive mldg, especially crown mldg. can prove to be somewhat of an adventure for the novice. Some people can't "wait to jump " at this new tool.Tools can make woodworking easier and faster, and more rewarding, but it takes patience and practice to achieve the final victory. You'll see.
