Kreg Owners' Community

Hello everyone. I'm new to both here and to woodworking and to using the Kreg jig. I'm sure I'll ask some simpleton questions, so forgive me in advance. I've been skulking around this site for a while, and I eventually just couldn't help myself, so I purchased the Kreg jig system when I saw it at my local home improvement store. I used it just yesterday for the first time seriously, and I love it. I had to rebuild a drawer in my aging kitchen cabinets. The Kreg jig made the joinery very simple.

I am lucky enough to have a decently appointed workshop (in need of a little TLC, but very nice). I've always thought that I would enjoy building different things instead of buying them, and I think this first project really sealed the deal. I have grand plans, of course. Hopefully I can live up to my own expectations!

So, hello!, and I'm looking forward to discussing projects and such with everyone here :)

Here is the link to my photos of my first little project. Still have some things to finish, but I did this much quicker than I envisioned with the Kreg jig :)

Alan,I was once told that the only stupid question is the unasked one..We all were "beginners" at one time or another, and from the looks of your drawer, your well on your way to becoming a seasoned woodworker..

Greetings Alan and Welcome to KOC! Your project looks like you did a really good job! Believe me it will lead to other repair projects. I have repaired all kinds of things for my Mom, Brothers, Relatives and Neighbors! Once the word is out they will be looking you up. I use the mini jig alot for repairs thats hard to get to. Our fellow woodworkers on this site are very knowlegable and willing to share. Glad to meet you, Neighbor. Just my two cents. T

Hey Alan! Welcome...lots of good information on this site, much more helpful and interactive than many sites I have been on.

Alan, welcome to the site! First of all, don't worry about the 'simpleton questions'... that's the very reason we built this site! I'm glad that your first project was successful, and that you've already got big plans for the next one! Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Good luck and good woodworking,
KregRep
