My building/woodworing history & reason for purchasing the Kreg jig

I was brought up by a father that generally had some home remodeling project going on and, since the chip doesn't fall far from the block followed in his footsteps. I took what I consider the next step and made a few pieces of furniture, a basic little table, foot stool, little cabinet, bookshelves, end tables that type of thing.

Dimensioned Desk

Well Since KregRep posted a comment on this project at LumberJocks I figured I would post it here as well. I am currently working on building an office suite out of dimensioned pine. The Kreg Jig is my main joinery technique.

I built the desk first and used a hand saw with miter box and Kreg Jig in order to do my miter joints.…

TV Stand

After buying a flat panel 37" TV, our existing entertainment center had to go. Pricing new ones was discouraging. They cost almost as much as the TV! So I got the ok from my wife to build one. As I posted on the forum I ran into some trouble drilling the pocket screws into the oak faceframe. The screws caused bulges and a few poked through! Both pieces of wood were 3/4 inch and I followed the specs on my Kreg tools. I had no problems on my last project and I built to whole thing with a Kreg Jr.… Continue
