After making some smaller stave lids I decided to make a Convex door , a bad move, but I had nothing but problems.

First off it was all a learning exercise, in maths calcs for angles heights, stave sizes, and then lack of information on previous job activities, then added to the problem my lack of proper equipment to do the job

I cannot find any way to secure the staves and apply enough pressure to clamp them together without them springing out of alignment, and clues?

Hey Robert this just came to me while I was watching tv, how about using the wide painters masking tape to hold things together while they dry. take pc. of tape long enough to go all the way around the door and use it in several spots along the length.

Thanks Ken,

I agree with you the manufacturing process needs to be reversed.

Its a pity this sort of wood work has been almost forgotten,or so it seems, possible the result of the progressive introduction of CNC wood working machines, and there is lots of them out there now.

I guess its a skill that will also disappear.

I am now even more committed to making some more, so I will keep you all informed of my possible progress.

Make arched fixture, to fit the inside surfaces to support the staves.
