Comment by Nicholas W. Kostella, Jr on April 28, 2014 at 6:54pm: Bruce, thanks for the nice comments. I used A-1 oak veneer ply 3/4" for sides and shelves. Face frames are 3/4" oak and shelves were capped with oak. The finish I used was Minwax polycrylic (water based)semi gloss...(I would use that finish on oak and open grain woods, but I don't prefer to use it on other woods like maple, cherry and walnut due to not drying flat - I did use quality brush and foam brush but same outcome). Of course, I built the set using KREG pocket hole system!
