The ''brown'' Gorilla glue is the type, that expands.
The glue pictured above, is the white wood glue.
I've used a fair amount of that. I think it gets into end grain a little better and is good if you have some voids. Downside is it foams to about 5X it's initial volume which can lead to foam out issues which is about the same as dealing with squeezeout of PVA glues, just harder to deal with. The foam can also push smaller parts out of alignment. I tried using it on an inlay once and in 20 minutes had pushed the inlay completely out of the relief. I do like it on most paint grade plywood projects as plywood is about half end grain.
It's never let me down.
