Ray like I mentioned to Robert i got furniture frames for free from a dealer here in Stanwood They where tossing them out for reasons of some scratches ect I must have grabbed 25 end frames from patio tables Im a scavenger that makes little extra free money  haha

Psst,

Jarrah was used extensively for railway sleepers.

Now if you were out walking one day and just  "happen to find" and old one sleeping beside the railway line and you are strong enough you may be able to carry it home.

Beware: due to its age it will be like steel to cut, remembering it may also be imbedded with little bits of stone from the original footings.

Upon being dressed its a beautiful deep red finish and if sanded to 600 grit it will shine.

Take a look at my Rockys Domino Box photo it has Aust red gum or Jarrah on the sides. I think there is also a photograph of a rough saw piece from the saw mill.

Nice work Jens,  I like the Jarrah its a lovely timber, the timber grows in Western Australia.

Jarrah, yes a good furniture making hardwood very similar properties to Yellow stringy bark that I used on the ES Box lid Jarrah is also tough durable timber, without the gum veins and worm holes which are a comon effect in the stringybark.

Jarrah like all good hardwood is becoming less available, now or is too expensive for its original intended use of decking

Blue wood is inside joke  between Jay and myself  so we will forget it   haha  

Sometimes I think Mr Boeing should use tape to cut down on expensive labor costs
