4 tier shelving unit

4 tier shelving unit for my workshop. I finished it yesterday and am pleased with the outcome. I used my newly purchased Kreg K5 pocket hole jig. I had some problems on the shelving unit. My Kreg screws pocked through the wood on a few of the joints. I double checked the plans I used and I followed the directions. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.

If you double checked your stop collar setting I would venture to guess it is a case of overdriven screws. Pine will cause that because of the knots. Your preset is too high where there aren't any knots or tight grain around them & too low for the areas where the knots & tight grain are present. Just have to watch the joint close as you screw it together. I've even went back & double checked with a hand driver.

You're gonna enjoy all that extra off the floor shelving!! Looks nice!!

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
