I have seen this video before and have already posted it here on the forum, but you can never see something like this too much. I have been the victim of a kickback and received 16 stitches in my left index finger. At the time that this happened I was cutting a 1/4'' pc. of plywood and I had both the gaurd and shield on the saw, it was a Skill table top saw with a stand. The kick back pawls just were not enough to keep that piece of wood from flying back and almost taking my finger off. you could even see the marks that the pawls made on top of the plywood.

I must say that after that happened I never trusted that saw again. It also bent the blade. Never under estimate what a table saw can do.

 I can say one thing about the video it says it all. I decided to get rid of my old craftsman saw after my roommate's niece's little boy distract me once. I decided to scrap the old saw and buy a new saw and follow all the safety guards of the saw.  It might not stop the kick back but, I feel the kick back I usually let it go. I figure a new blade or saw is better than stitches. I also cut sheet goods with a skill saw  to cut the piece of ply to any length than use my table saw. I changed my whole cutting method because that day with the little nephew changed it for me. I thought I was going to lose my hand that day. Luckly, I let go of the piece of plywood.

I kinda put my table saw off to the side.  After seeing various videos and pics and stories, I hesitate to use saw.

The band saw is my go-to saw now and I also use circular saw, miter saw, and radial arm saw.  I've had radial arm saw for about 35 years and consider it my safest saw. (and I "pull" the blade thru piece I'm cutting, not "push"... much discussion on that).  Mainly cross cut with saw but have done rip cuts.   I do dados with a hand held router or on router table. 

Maybe if my table saw had guard, riving knife and sled I'd feel comfortable, but it has none of those.

Just the other day, while talking to a fellow I see in store once in a while, asked him about his 2 missing fingers.   He said "table saw".  It was on his left hand and the poor guy is left handed.  It happened at a work place so he got a few bucks for it.  Rather have my fingers.
