im not sure, but i dont think so. the pigments in stain settle to the bottom and shaking, espically gently wont mix the stain very well. i would stir the stain to mix the pigments with the carrier solution. try it both ways and let all of us know.

Well, I didn't see a lot of bottom settlement when I Stirred with a stick. Doesn't mean much there.

Is a stick stirrer pretty much the norm for a stirring device?

yes i usually grab a piece of scrap, wipe it off and use that to stir the stain, nice to see someone else from ohio.

Stirring stain keeps air bubbles from forming and it also does get any pigment that might have settled

Hi Steven - I've found, especially on colors/shades I don't use very often that the pigments tend to compact pretty tightly on the bottom of the can. Gotta get 'em up with a stick. Especially new cans as you have no idea how long they have been shelved. If it's only been a week or so since I used it, a quick shake will suffice.

Miter Saw Recommendation 1 Reply

I’m looking to upgrade my miter saw. I’m willing to invest a good amount of money to get one with the precision pocket hole joinery requires. Would anyone like to offer a recommended model?

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
