Square Cut

Ok I admit it i thought it was sort of a gimicky device, but i broke down and got one and it works like a charm..

My only complaint is the minimum adjustment between fence and saw is 1 3/8" and my cheap (ryobi) One+ Circular saw only has 1" clearance (once pass with the saw fixed that :-).

Very happy with what I thought was a somewhat useless idea..

Equally thrilled with my Kreg jig, i get tons of use out of that!

Kerry, very happy that you discovered the hidden gem that is the Square-Cut! I agree, it's far more useful in person than it looks online. It's hard to explain just why it's so much better than a regular old speed square, but use one a few times to make cuts, and you'll be an instant believer!

i got one, can't use it my dewalt has a 5 1/2 inch base and the arm is not long enough. gonna take it back

Nope I don't see how it would if you wanted to hold it in your right hand and have the saw in your Left...

Making a ''cut-off jig'' for your circular hand saw.

Cut a piece of 1/4'' plywood 8'' wide by 14'' long.

Bevel one side, at a 30 degree angle---with the narrow/pointed end on the 12'' leg.

Place a 1x2 cleat along the short leg---extend the cleat a 1/2'' greater than the dimension from the saw base to the saw blade.

Fasten the cleat 90 degrees to the long leg edge.

Position the ''cut-off jig'' up to the work piece, with the cleat resting against the work piece.

Place the saw base against the long edge of the ''jig'', and cut thru the cleat; therefore, making the cleat cut-end the same dimension as the dimension from the saw base to the blade teeth.
