Router table finger jiont jig?

Hi all heres one too get those heads scratching.Been trying too make a finger jiont jig for my router table,why i hear you ask ?whats up with a dado set on the tablesaw?Well dado sets are illegal here in the U.K.so much so tablesaw arbors/spindles are designed so they wont accomadate dado sets [as far as i know].I have attempted too make the aforesaid jig twice failed.Second time was better, jionts tight tails sticking out just enough for sanding.But the top edge of the workpiece 1/4" above the top jiont and the bottom edge minus 1/4" if that makes sense.What am i doing wrong guys? The only thing i can come up with is i need to make some sort of micro adjuster any ideas gratefully recieved ,before i throw it out the window again.

Hi ken ,yeah did look at the rockler jig.However the import tax makes this one expensive jig,thanks for the reply though, go steady.

Thanks ken for the drawings, got something along those lines planned.But with a micro adjuster let you know how i get on.

A simple micro adjuster can be a stop block, with a flathead screw in the end---

turn the screw, in or out, to fine-tune the stop.

Tape also is effective, for some applications---

apply layers, as needed.

Apply a paste wax, to suffice as a lubricant.

Shim stock---

paper .003" thick

file card stock .005" thick

playing cards .008" thick

just to name a few.

For some uses, square spacer blocks can be made from hardwood, such as maple.

Cut it a tad oversize, and plane it down to the final desired dimension. 

Automotive feeler gauges are very handy, 

as well as drill bits.

This object can be made to a suitable size---

length and width---

and fastened to a miter gauge.

Try it, and lemme know how it works for you.

One idea begets another.

A micro adjust feature is very useful for many applications.

For wood working adjusting screws, I prefer to use ''32 threads per inch"---

hence, a travel of 1/32" per revolution of adjustment.

Kreg offers a ''micro-adjust''---

bandsaw and router table fence---

micro-adjusts to .005".
