FYI

Make on-the-mark cuts with your circular saw

Fast to set up and highly accurate, this cutoff jig was designed for 6″ boards. But you can increase the width for larger workpieces, or angle the fence and enlarge the jig to make 45° cuts.

To make one, measure the distance from the edge of the widest portion of your circular-saw base to the blade, add 1⁄4″, and mount the fence that dimension from one end of the base. Then, with your circular-saw base against the fence, cut the jig end to final length.

To use the jig, clamp it with the stop against the workpiece edge and the right end of the jig aligned with your cutline. Hold the saw-base edge against the fence as you cut, as shown above left.

PS:

Using the Guide:

Place guide directly on cut line. Mark the plywood for your cut. Then lay the guide directly on the line, placing the guide on the side of the line that you will keep. This will prevent chip out from occurring on the project itself, because the base of the guide system will serve as a backer board for the cut.

Make your cut. Carefully hold the saw tight against the fence and flat against the base for the length of the cut. Push steadily through the cut in one continuous motion.

blade cuts along edge---suffices as a ''zero-clearance" feature

I use a variety of these jigs for sawing (ripping and cross cutting panels, as well as edge routing.

Ken when i got the time ,very busy at moment going too come up with my own system i think for cutting sheet goods.Got too think it out first ,and this ole brain needs a bit of warming up ha , go steady ken.

I have a ''simple panel saw system", and its "portable"---

takes up minimal space, when stored, takes up the space of (2) 2x4x8.
