Mounting your jig

Hello, I just purchased my Kreg Jig. Can some of you experienced users tell me how you mounted your jig? Did you mount it to a bench? Or a piece of plywood or something and then clamp that to a bench? Or is there a better way for storage, mounting and using the jig?

Great setup, Burchie! That's the most impressive Kreg Jig setup I've seen so far in this thread. Very nice... I especially like the custom vac-hose support. Well done.

By the way, Burchie... if you want the photos to show up right inside your post instead of as linked files at the bottom... just click the little 'camera icon' instead of clicking on "upload files". This will allow readers to see your photos without having to click on them individually go to a separate page. The way you did it works fine though. Thanks for sharing, and good luck!

I'm a bolt to the workbench guy since I always use the jig in the same place. It's a spot in my shop where I have 14' of ceiling space and that allows me to use the jig on longer pieces of lumber standing vertically as well.

Mount the jig on a board and use your bench vice with a stop for quick setup.

I added mine to a Piece of 3/4 inch Plywood on hinges . also added a box with a thousand each of fine and course thread 1 1/4 pocket screws.

I have the kreg jig i made a workbench just for the jig because it gives me extra room the clamp all my peaces together. It is just more conveneat for me ever tother..

Thought I would post a picture of the mount I made tonight. One thing I wanted was to keep everything together and the be able to get to it easy, as well as put it away. Be honest I've never even used the tool yet, so if you see any reason that the cases would be in the way, let me know. I have more add more guide. I also may flush mount like I saw in a earlier post.

Yeah, I see that now. This thread has so many big pictures in it that it took a loooooonnnnnggggg time to load on my less-than-stellar internet connection. Oddly enough, the first pic that loaded was the one of the board with the pegs, and the others hadn't yet loaded when I posted a reply. I was completely puzzled by what I was looking at. :)

Now that it's had time to load all of the pics, I can readily see the design. Nice looking mount.

I tried to delete my earlier reply but you replied to it too quickly so now it's here for posterity. Ah well.

I mounted mine on a bit 3/4" plywood. Here's a picture of it hanging on the wall. Actually it is sitting on a rail, and retained by a cleat and the Kreg clamps around the conduit. If you look closely you will see a drill bit and driver bit stored there as well (in two of the guide bushings of the jig). Not too purty but it works and keeps everthing together. Often I just sit it on the bench, unless working with large workpieces it is not necessary to even clamp it down.

Are the blue blocks a Kreg option/accessory? I assume they are the same height has the Jig..
