Looking for a plan to add an hinged extension on my work bench.

Something simple to add more space for working.

Thanks that helps.  Sometimes you get a mental block.

Chad,

Consider making a separate mobile stand, before you finalize your plans to build and attach the object to your work-bench.

A separate mobile stand/table can suffice as an auxiliary work-space.

Two such units can be made, and used on both ends of the workbench.

Drawers can be included to facilitate storage of tools and such.

Make dedicated drawer(s) for Kreg tools and screws.

The top, on one unit, could feature a Kreg work station for drilling, and the second top could include an assembly station.  When mobile, they could be positioned side-by-side.

Thanks.  Would be better if I could move it around.

I am in the process of building this rollaround work table it comes from Family handyman magazine August.

Here are some pictures from the mag to get an idea what its like . I am about to put the wheels on the basic frame today. Its going to be my portable router table home and work cart.

Here is another picture.

I installed a couple of these to the backside of my work bench/assy table/outfeed table. I added about 14 inches. It has worked well.

I made a small roll-around stand for a benchtop shaper that I use occasionally. I made it so I could just lift the whole tool and top up and store it under neath and roll it under a workbench. Then I made a separate melmine top I could use as additional work space. I'm still coming up with more additional tops I can add. KREG jig, clamping table, etc.

I'm not a fan of locking casters (they seem to move at just the wrong time) so I just put two casters on one end and have regular legs on the other. To move just pick one end up and roll like a wheel barrow. And it stays where I put it.

Selecting the appropriate locking caster for the application, is important.

There are locking casters on the market that are very effective.

Some casters have a feature that locks in both directions---movement and rotation simultaneously.

I've used Industrial Casters on mobile units, including some heavy machines, and have had no problems with movement.

Here is my foldaway almost finished but you will get the idea. It has a table top of 4ft x 6ft. folded down only 2ft x 6ft. Here is my project page.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
