Hi,
I'm new to the site so my question may be a kinda stupid one.
I recently purchased the K4 master jig set for a project I'm working on.
I noticed that when I have the dust collection attachment fitted to the jig I cannot unscrew the screw that hold the depth jig in place without removing the dust attachment each time.
Any thoughts or suggestions on this?
Regards
JB

I brought this up a little bit ago here and didn't get much feedback.
I wish it had a square drive or even phillips head, but the only thing I can think of is to use a Dremel with a cutting blade and cut a slot across the head so I can use a slot screwdriver. I think I have one of those screwdrivers around here somewhere.
That leads me to wonder if I can buy a replacement thumb screw if I mess up the original one.

John,
Thank you for your input. With the dust collection attachment on the jig itself you can unscrew the index pin, though it is not as easy as without the dust collection attached. The notched rim of this pin allows you to run your thumb across the top of it, loosening or tightening the pin to allow you to move the drill guide block with the dust collection attachment in place. We do appreciate your comments as this is how we grow and improve our tools. With that being said we have passed them on for further review.
Hi Ken,
Thanks for your input, good point as I feel "running your finger over the knurled part of the screw" won't release it unless it wasn't tightened up very much in the first place?
I think the supply of an extended section of the knurled part of the screw would facilitate easy removal of the screw, only needs to be another inch or so longer.
Maybe Kreg could consider this
Only a small part of the whole tool I realise but it would make an already remarkable tool even better??
Regards
John

How about making that thumb screw square drive?

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
