Hi Peoples, 

Greg here...Like working with wood. I wish I could do it more...but life gets in the way. I have done a few Home Improvements around our house and have made a few things here and there. I am a Jack of all trades master of none kind of guy. The wife says I do good work. I have plenty of hobbies and can't decide which to enjoy at any given time.

Hello My Name is James, I live in Minooka IL, it is a SW suberb of Chicago. I am a retired Army Helicopter Instructor Pilot after 23 years. I am now a Health & Safety Specialist for a power plant in Joliet IL. I have played around with woodworking most of my life but still would consider myself a beginner. I do not have the space to have a shop and do work out of my garage. I recently saw the Kregg Jig system and thought it could really help me out. I was pretty stoked about getting started. So after watching a video on-line on how to build a workbench I went down to Menards and purchase the K4. I found it extremely easy to follow the instructions and it went well. I actually made to to go on each side of my toolbox. I painted them the same color as my tool box and I gotta admit it looks really good. I am extremely happy with the Jig and my first project. They were made of 2x4's and MDF. I estimated the cost for materials (except paint) for each bench to be $30. The paint cost me more than the materials for the workbenches. My wife already has a list of projects for me now.

Howdy!!  My name is Larry and I am in Colorado Springs stationed at Fort Carson.  I bought the Kreg Master system, after seeing it used on various programs and applications on TV, to use with the honey-do's at the new house we recently purchased.  I have done some wood working as a hobby on and off for 10-15 years.  I don't have the space or $ for a true shop so I do what I can by getting cuts that I can't do with my miter saw done at HD.  My first project was a bench for our mudroom.  The bench is part of a built-in bench/cabinet/shelf setup the wife insisted on.  Hopefully this weekend I will finish the cabinets and get them hung.  I will post pics when I can.  So far I am VERY happy with the jig.  I used it for the frame/carcass of this bench and total drill and assembly time without help was about 45 min.

Yep, the plywood is birch.  There is beadboard going up on the wall, and cabinets, hopefully this weekend :)

I have already done it myself. I had the bit set up for an 1 1/2" and forgot to move the jig from 3/4" and observed some blue shavings during drilling. I knew something was wrong and needless to say I was a little upset. Once I took out the board I realized it wasn't to bad. I expected to see a big 'ol hole, I was relieved to see it was just the bit tip. It was just the point it was brand new.

I hope to move on to some cabinetry type projects in the coming months, and will post pictures if they are worthy.

  Now for something completely different....Where are you from in GB.  I am in the military and spent a year in England.  I lived in the village of Icklingham between Mildenhall and Bury St. Edmonds.  We loved living in Suffolk and I was able to buy some nice furniture cheaply at an auction that became my favorite haunt.  Also, I learned to cut hand dovetails at a woodshop in Lakenheath.

Hello Everyone,

New member Ron Bogansky from Kutztown, PA (eastern PA near Allentown).  I am a hobbyist woodworker and DIYer.  I have had my jig (K3) for about 6 years.  I bought it at the Kreg display at the first woodworking show I attended.  It really has helped make me a better woodworker and I find it to be one of my favorite tools.

I have been building my first project using my Kreg jig over the last couple months. It isn't finished but its almost there. I do steel fabrication and wood working as a hobby. I was stationed through RAF Lakenheth and worked at RAF Feltwell.  Suffolk (and Norfolk) were beautiful.  We lived in a barn conversion on a farm and it was great.  The property backed up to the Elveden Estate.  Had a wonderful time and miss our mates.
