Welcome Jose,

Everyone from Chicago, started out as a beginner---

some have moved up to the novice catagory.

Hang in there, warmer weather is in the distant future.

In the meantime, watch some hockey and make some sawdust.

We sure do miss them 30 & 40 just to hear above freezing sounds good. I've been out of commission sins 21 of December thanks to a mishap with a ladder 15ft in the air, thank God all I've to recoup from is a heel bone feature.  Looking forward to play with my new toy (kreg jig). Thanks for your comment Ken.

Hi everyone,

This is Greg in California--I've been woodworking for about a year and just recently got into Kreg joinery.  I picked up a Kreg mini jig at a woodworking event and (I'm embarrassed to say) didn't actually try it out for quite a while.  A few weeks ago I used the mini to assemble a drawer and part of the frame for a tool box, and I was quite impressed!  Bought a K5, and I'm interested in exploring the potential of Kreg joints and other Kreg products.

I've also really enjoyed reading many of the questions and answers in this forum.  Lots of valuable information here.

Hello, my name is Murph and I live in central New York. I'm definitely a beginner but Kreg Jigs have given me new confidence and inspired me to build a truss picnic table with detached benches and a work bench. As I acquire the right tools (critical) I'm enjoying woodworking much more than my previous attempts and may have found a new hobby and looking forward to learn from others. With that in mind, is there a source for Kreg projects in addition to the ones on the website?

Murph,

There are a great many sources for kreg products. Amazon, Klingspor, Rockler and many other woodworking supply sources as well as a few supplies at your local big box home centers. Good luck and enjoy making sawdust.

Hi my name is Matt and I'm from Chicago. I have been around woodworking and general construction my whole life. I was always in the garage watching my dad build amazing pieces of furniture and fixtures. Well it is time to stop watching and start doing!! With the background of being able to do it yourself and being a new father and home owner, it is time to follow in my fathers footsteps and build not buy!

Hi I'm Spence, I live on the outskirts of a small village. Goes by the name of Balsall Common. Used to be in Warwickshire UK, but with the boundary changes is now in The West Midlands! Just purchased a K5 to help me construct something for my daughter Sam. She is "remodeling" her home 200 miles north in Newcastle and wanted a blanket chest. Joined the Community for ideas and inspiration. NO experience in woodworking, I've counted my fingers and have 10 including thumbs, and hope to have the same number after completing my 1st project.

Welcome Spence,

Just think things out as you go.....safety first !! I'm sure you will find plenty of projects to enjoy building. If you have any problems or questions that's what we are here for. Have a Great Kreg Day !!

Hello to all, my name is Ruben, I'm from Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico home town of baja 1000 off road racing.

I love doing woodworking on the weekends as a hobby as a stress release, I bought my first kerg jr 4 years ago and I love it, I just upgrade to the k4 jig on December, was on sale at Home Depot.

Found this site and joined to get ideas for new projects.

Have a great woodworking

Hello from my 'man tool basement' place .his has been here for 28 years and mostly used for storage of my 38 Macs of all kinds and models. Got rid of those and the room became storage for CAP. That is over with now. Mt health is going down but I can still tinker. Mt shop is about a single car garage place under the den. This is a walk in room from the outside. I grew up with Dad's real estate company and was digging ditches very young. Went to N C State in Industrial Engineering but Uncle Sam found me and my low grades in 1961. I taught for 28 years 4th thru 14th. I enjoyed most of that. Now I have uTube to to watch bunches of people doing all kinds of things. I find one and try it in the 'man tool cave.' Bought myself the K5 set last week and can't wait to build me some storage space on the wall. Just something about drilling holes. Love the Forsner(sp) drill set and my new drill press from a pawn shop. Can't wait to use my K5 to drill some holes in some wood.
