My name is Jeffrey from Arizona.

I have been woodworking off & on for the past few years. I have made plenty of mistakes but we can learn from those.

I own a K4 and it has expanded my abilities to build.

I joined this community to draw from the wealth of knowledge available here.

My most recent build was a wall mounted bookshelf made from a damaged & discarded dresser. It wasn't an easy task but I managed to get it built over a few days time.

Hello my name is Frank and  I live in Kingsburg, California.  I am retired after 29 years as Director of Engineering within the Hospital System.   I have been doing wood working within my spare time for the past 10 years now that I have more spare time I would like to do more.  I purchased my Kreg Jig a few  years ago.  It is the best.  It is a pleasure to be a part of this organization and all of the other wood pushers.  I look forward to getting ideas and gaining knowledge form the professionals.   A few years back my wife said she needed two small end tables.  That was my first use of this amazing product, all of the joints or tight and square and no glue needed.  No nail holes to try and cover up everything is hidden.   I will need all of the help I can get.

Hello to everyone! My name is Steve, and I live in Chelsea, Alabama. I have been woodworking as a hobby for over 40 years, starting in my Dad's shop as the official sander, a position I held with pride for a number of years until I realized it was because no one else wanted to do it. Family and work responsibilities have conspired over the years to limit my time in the shop, but I manage to complete some small projects occasionally. Recently I have spent most of my time on the lathe turning small projects such as bowls, pens, wine stoppers, and pipe tampers, i.e., something I can complete in a few hours as I don't know when I might make it back in the shop. I have always wanted a Kreg jig since I first saw Norm Abram use one on The New Yankee Workshop. Now that I own one, I plan to expand my project list and work on some furniture pieces.

Hello Everyone!

I am Steve Kinnaird, I live in Palm Bay, FL about 45 minutes south of the Kennedy Space Center.

I have been building things from wood for many years and got my first Kreg Pocket Hole Jig about 3 years ago. How I ever did without leaves me scratching my head :)

I am currently building out a 12 ft x 30 ft Lark Shed with 8 ft high walls to become my wood working shop. It should be done by the end of the month. Can't wait to turn on the first tools and create some saw dust :)

Hi, everyone! My name is Josephine and I live in Greenville, South Kackolaki. For the first 15 years of my career I worked in marketing and PR. But over the past five years I've bought and renovated five houses myself, including all plumbing and electrical. But I've never been very good at framing or using a circular saw. So I've decided to try my hand at some woodworking projects. Using the Kreg system seemed like a good starting point!

Hi my name is Tammy and I purchased the Kreg DIY Project Kit, Rip-Cut™ Saw Guide, Kreg Clamps as a Christmas gift (2014) for myself.  It is now August 2015 and the only thing that I've made was small stand that sits on top of my dresser to hold my Blu-ray, DVD and Roku players.  I did that little project this past July just to get a hang of how my Kreg DIY Project Kit works.  I really want to build a "Recliner side table" but haven't been able to find any plans for something like this. It's nothing fancy but just a rectangle table with a bottom shelf and a drawer.  I am not an carpenter and the only thing that I am GOOD at is building/repairing computers and I am VERY good at following instructions.  I have pictures of the type of recliner side table that I would like to build but am not sure how to build this thing by just going by the picture.  I am starting to feel like my purchasing the Kreg DIY Project Kits is an epic fail.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated or I'll end up writing this off as an loss.

Hi Tammy,

1st, welcome to the Kreggers.

The Kreg tools included in the kit, will come in very useful.

It's as simple as using the right tool for the applicable task at hand.  You'll find them useful.

I'd suggest obtaining some books on Wood Working Joinery---there's some good books on the market---

this one shown.  It's concise and cuts to the chase---easy to follow instructions and includes applicable photos.

Another good book, is this one. 

Obtain some scraps/cut-0ffs and practice making the applicable cuts, before proceeding to the finished product.  This will up your confidence.

Make some sawdust and happy building.

Thank you Ken for the comment and the books suggestion.  I WILL give these a try before I give up on my Kreg DIY kit.  I will practice more on scraps as you suggest so that I will feel more comfortable with my Kreg tools.
