Thanks, Gary.  It appears that the Kreg system will make it easier to do cabinet doors.  At least easier than mortise and tenon joints.

Welcome Howard,   It would be much easier to tell you what you cannot do with a Kreg jig!   I am no match for many that post here but I first purchased the Kreg Jr.   I so much loved the ease of use and what I could accomplish that I purchased the K4.  The mini did the same job, it just required you to move the jig for each pockethole.   The K4 allowed me to keep the jig in one place and allowed me to complete the same task speedier and more evenly.

Hi, my name is Howard, and I live in southeastern PA.  I consider myself a novice woodworker since most of the jobs I have done were repair rather than new construction.  I don't have a Kreg jig system yet, which is why I am here - to find out what I can do with a Kreg jig kit.

Thanks for the welcome, Rita. The Kreg system looks like it will do a lot.

good day,i am wilie from south africa I want to know if the K5 is availeble in the stores or only on the internet I can not find it there I have the junior 3 but I want 2 upgrade

Hey there, I'm ken. I figure it must be time to introduce myself as I have been on here for a little while now.  About 1991-92(?) I bought my first home, of course it just had to be remodeled, right? I went to sears & bought a bunch of cool tools, new & used (from friends, etc.). I, at the time had no clue (maybe a little) what I could do with what I had, one of those cool tools was a single hole "pocket hole jig" (the metal one, not sure if it was a Kreg or not), well like I said, "no clue" of what it was capable of doing. I ended up selling all of what I had & moved elsewhere. I stayed in wood working, but mostly working as a finish carpenter for a friend. I have worked for Thomas Moser for a little while, but my main career was excavating, heavy equipment operator, truck driver for my family.  My background always put me on job sites with every construction profession.  I knew all the pros in the field, the one that inspired me into wood working, can you guess(?), yup, the carpenters. I learned & watched & learned more, even asked questions. After a few years of learning wood working skills, I went on & ended up in Iowa, there I met Jerry (an Old Order Amish Gent) by driving around my new town. I came across his sign at the end of his drive that read "Furniture", that's all it said. I took a chance and went up to check it out. When I got there, I thought "this should be interesting", my thought could not have been more right, I met with him & hit it off pretty well, he showed me his shop & some projects he was working on that day, "WOW!" I talked with him for hours about his set up, everything was done by hand (drills, screwdrivers, sanding, etc.) except his power tools, he had everything & none of it had electricity hooked to it, yet it all performed perfectly. None of his tools was made outside the USA (Good on you Jerry), Powermatic, Delta & some custom made machines done by fellow Amish craftsmen in his church. I was in heaven, it was a line shaft driven, furniture & cabinet shop run by an old world craftsmen. Jerry ran his shop alone & I had no shop, we both thought (after a few visits) he could use some help, I stayed working "with", not for him (Amish can't hire "English" people) for about 2yrs. I learned a lot from him & he learned some from me.

Sorry, for this biography, I should say something about one of his cool tools that really inspired my interest in furniture making, it was his "Shop Made, Kreg Jig Table", it's not Kreg's pocket hole machine, it is a bench top drill press setup with an older Kreg jig laying at an angle with a table top, that was used to join everything (that is when I knew I was on to something back when I had my first one in "91-92, "that's what that thing was to be used for", I thought.

Now that I have moved to Florida, one of the first tools I got was the Kreg jig. I haven't looked back since, I use it on almost everything I build, almost. I now I have a few of Kreg's tools &/or jigs, I love em.

Hi all

Just started using these pocket hole jigs having seen Norm using them in the Yankee workshop, until recently I worked in metal rather than wood because you can weld it and it is nice and regular in size ! Now taking wood as a challenge and buying wood working tools to renovate a bungalow here in the Uk.  Looking at a biscuit jointer and router table soon so will be looking for advice from the experienced wood workers.

                                                   all the best Roy

I didn't open the email because it sounded to flakey to come from you.  I hope I'm wrong.

Hello Everyone, My name is Jose and just recently purchased my Kreg Jig Master system but am brand new to woodworking. I made my own reloading bench and it turned out pretty nice. I now want to expand on that and make some more stuff. Found that the kreg jig will make easy work of joining pieces together while keeping a very nice look and feel. Im excited to learn and will be visiting the site often.

Free Hand Guard (dust collection)

Hi.  I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing.  How effective is it?  It's adaptable to any router table.  Continue

New Kreg 720Pro

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.

First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
