Hello, My name is Terry and I live in California. I recently purchased a Kreg Jig and am amazed at how nice the joints are with this. I am a beginer woodworker but am looking forward to adding tools to my arsenal and improving my abilities. My first project was an entry way bench that actually turned out very good and the wife is pleased. A few more projects and I should be able to justify some more money for additional tools :-)
Hello, My name is Juan and I live in Middle Tennessee. I have buit mail boxes in the past but am trying woodworking as a hobby. I want to build deckbenches for my deck and remove the ugly PVC railing.
Welcome Aboard Terry,
Getting the Kreg jig, is a great start.
Kreg's Jig and their pocket hole joinery system, is a great way to get into wood working and building projects.
It's a simple and easy joinery system, for the beginner as well as the seasoned pro.

hi, i'm new to woodworking and starting to get some tools together. just bought the basic kreg jig. what other tools are a must when building cabinets and tables?
Clamps, a good wood glue (I like titebond III), a good circular sander for the unfinsihed wood (150 grain sandpaper), a good sanding sealer (Zinzer has a good product), a good polyurithane and finally a palm sander using a 400grit wet\dry sandpaper for between coats of poly. You have the perfect tool with the kreg jig system. There are other tools, but to achieve the greatest finish, I believe is the crowning achievement to cabinets and any wood furniture.
Building cabinets? You'll need a higher end table saw. The 200-300 saw dont cut it, i think.
I initially had one of these low end saws and it's difficult to get nice square cuts.
this is what i upgraded to recently: RIDGID 10 in. 13-Amp Professional Table Saw
It's not a low end saw, but it's also not one of those high end $1000 saws.
As Nicholas said, clamps are a must, and not just one or two. Maybe 5-6 is a nice number to start with.

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has used the Woodpecker Free Hand Guard for dust collection on their bench top router table during pattern routing. How effective is it? It's adaptable to any router table. Continue

I saw the video Kreg put out for this new jig and had high hopes for it.
I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
First the docking station is extremely cheap. The plastic is pathetic. A Lego has more…
