I'm Currently build my Kitchen Cabinets, I'm using oak plywood. I have build cabinets out of MDF before but was not happy with results. I had to build it out of MDF because of cost and needed to build very quickly. This time I'm going to spend the money and time to do it right because I'm only going to build kitchen once. You could build out MDF they make screws that are for it but If you are wood guy your going to be unhappy with the results.

Matt, one thing that I've gone to in kitchen cabinetry is prefinished Birch plywood. I end up paying $20 or so more a sheet, but only use it on the uppers and the base cabinets where the interior can be seen. The finish is flawless though. It's better to spend the money on good materials and good hardware in the start than hate it in the end. One other suggestion I could give to you too is to check out Knape and Vogt KVMUV series of soft close slides, at about $20 a pair they are well worth it as well. Those are what I use in all of my cabinetry.
Justin, Can you give a few more details on the prefinished birch plywood? Is it stained and sealed? On both sides? How large are the sheets you are referring to? I assume they are 3/4" plywood. THANKS!

I purchased one today and am very disappointed with it.
